Gina Boyer gained more than 15 years worth of experience in features, television and documentary production before crossing over to the world Real People Casting for commercials, branded content, documentaries, reality tv and UX.

Her first job in NYC was answering phones at Clinica Estetico (the late Jonathan Demme's production company), before producing a slew of non-fiction television and feature projects, including PRAY THE DEVIL BACK TO HELL, winner of the Best Documentary prize at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival.

As a freelance Project Manager/Casting Director with Genuine: The Real People Company, powered by Strickman-Ripps Casting, she specializes in finding compelling people and stories - whether they are CEO's, award-winning creatives, influencers or overwhelmed first-time moms for projects clients like: Microsoft, AmEx, Dove, Champion, Stouffer's, Lean Cuisine, Apple, and more...

Project Manager/Casting Director

Create project methodology for tv, online commercial projects based on clients’ needs. Determine research and outreach strategies, manage research staff, design interviews and outreach, liase with clients, run studio and Skype sessions for top ad agencies, production companies and directors.  Spots include: AmEx, Microsoft, Apple, Advil, Lean Cuisine, JetBlue, Dove, Champion, Carhartt, etc.

Ran casting sessions and street recruiting for national television commercials and print advertisements.  Clients included: Target, Arthur Elgort, Weight Watchers, Gogurt.

Coordinated and scheduled local shoots, managed budget, researched archival footage, obtained rights and clearances, handled festival submissions, and acted as sales and distribution liaison for Pray the Devil Back to Hell  (Winner of the Best Documentary Award at the 2008 at the Tribeca Film Festival and the Witness Award at Silverdocs 2008).

Produced and wrote two weekly six-minute luxury lifestyle segments in New York City for HD satellite network based in Luxembourg.  

 

SEARCHWORKS May 2004 – January 2007

Senior Researcher (freelance) New York/Los Angeles, CA

Created and edited game questions, negotiated contract terms for license agreements, researched, licensed and cleared still photographs, film and audio clips for feature film, television, advertising and game clients.  Spent three months creating the database and cataloging inventory for the Joseph Campbell Archive Collection, housed at Pacifica Graduate Center in Montecito, CA.

Conducted interviews and shoots, coordinated crew, managed budget, wrote and created paper edit, supervised post-production for Voices of Light: The Girls Choir of Harlem, a feature-length documentary commissioned by HBO.

Outreach Coordinator March 1998 - August 1998

Coordinated outreach and grassroots campaign for the Academy award-nominated documentary, The Farm: Angola, U.S.A.  Assisted in the planning and coordination of the New York City premiere, and other special screenings.  Responsible for the film's worldwide distribution to theaters, film festivals, schools and prisons and coordinated the trafficking of the reels.

Set-up production office, handled travel and administrative duties on the feature film Beloved.  Kept script notes and maintained continuity for Second Unit production team.
